Why is your order delivery estimator say it's going to take a long time to ship my order?
Wayne R. Dempsey
We installed the Delivery Estimator in 2004 in order to align our customer's expectations with what we could deliver. In order to offer an expanded selection along with lower prices, we strive to keep our current inventories very low. This means that for some uncommon (often \\"dealer-only\\" items) we need to order them and have them brought into our Los Angeles warehouse prior to shipment. On some parts, this may take up to six business days. For some Genuine Porsche parts, we need to have them shipped from Atlanta, or sometimes even Germany. In general, the Delivery Estimator is conservative in its approach - we beat our estimated delivery time about 95% of the time. If you ordered a custom-manufactured product like a car cover, your order may be shipped in separate shipments. The Delivery Estimator predicts the delivery date of the last shipment in your order (the one that will take the longest).
